My Book. Start.

Sun Aug 2, 2009, 9:42 PM
I lost a lot of the pages, but here are the first few:

Untitled. By. Tennyson Claire.

Chapter One. Page One.

Else Bernhardt's family had never been one to have friends. As far back as Else remembered, (which was back to the days of great-grandfather Ingmar), no one in the Bernhardt family had been close to anyone who was not of their own blood, and even these relationships were only in use out of obligation. The family was always aloof; their old-fashioned ideoligies were far from what modern society deemed acceptable or normal. In a century of blossoming technology, with the advancement of science so speedy as has never been seen before, the Bernhardts lived on a small farm in a big house, just outside of what might be classified as a town, but is closing to being classified as a smattering of buildings forming a cluster of streets. This town was Pitt Meadows, Michigan.
It was a curiosity to the members of Pitt Meadows as to why a family of Finnish descent, such as the Bernhardt's were, should need such a large brick house when only four people lived in it. They never stopped to wonder why a Finnish family would be living in Pitt Meadows at all, for they thought their town to be idyllic, and had no reasons in their minds to dispute that fact: rather, it was the brick house that bothered them.
Not one of the community members of Pitt Meadows saw reason for the size and material of the brick house, considering it was for four people. It was obscene to have such a large building outside of what was a rather practical town, such as theirs, and they did not take kindly to anything obscene, as the brick house was, to be encroaching upon their honest, hardworking, routined lives. The disturbance of the Bernhardt family never became a topic of stale discussion, for it had garnered the interest of all within its radius, and it never was released from the claws of afternoon gossip.

I'm only putting up this little teeny weeny bit today. This is a VERY rough draft: whenever I go through and re-work things after they're finished they are always more fluidly descriptive! :)
